The Harte and Garter Hotel has a prime position right in the heart of Windsor Berkshire. As such it is close neighbours with Windsor Castle - which is literally just across the road.
Its central position does mean it is to some extent in competition with the World-famous Guildhall Windsor for hosting wedding ceremonies. However, the Guildhall is almost always extremely busy and so if you fancy a more leisurely start to your wedding day the Harte and Gater Hotel might win your vote.
There is no garden area suitable for wedding photos but it is possible to walk down to the Riverside. Another good spot is at the start of the Long Walk at the southerly end of the town centre. Take a look in the Guildhall gallery for lots of samples of this.
Sometimes the police and military staff on duty outside the castle can be persuaded to allow a few posed wedding photos with the main gates to the castle as a backdrop. And Windsor itself is a lovely and photogenic location to walk through - so if the weather is fine why not try a walk to the Long Walk rather than jumping in your wedding car. You can expect to have lots of attention and congratulations from the many tourists if you do that!
Needless to say parking is a major challenge especially in the height of summer as Windsor is of course a prime desination for visitors from both the UK and abroad.

Couples may decide to have their ceremony a couple of hundred yards away in the Guildhall, or at their local church, and then move to the hotel for the wedding breakfast and reception:
