Background Information and Highlights

St Michaels Church Heckfield near Hook in Hampshire is just a few minutes drive from Peter's base and he has shot weddings here several times over many years, together with other churches in the same benefice such as Rotherwick. The church is right next to Highfield Park and many couples choose the church for their ceremony followed by Highfield Park for their reception. There are of course many other gorgeous reception venues nearby; the bride featuring in most of the photos on this page chose Warbrook House for her wedding reception (see Peter’s Warbrook House Wedding Photo Gallery).

There are some restrictions on photography and video so do have a chat with the priest who is to conduct your ceremony. Peter has always attended the ceremony rehearsal beforehand and through meeting the priest this has helped him to achieve a greater variety on the day. The physical layout of the interior of the church is tricky for photography but there is a good position from which to shoot just in front and to the left of the couple whilst the pillars obscure the photographer from the guests, keeping any distractions to a bare minimum.
