Background Information and Highlights
Rivervale Barn has been built and maintained to an excellent standard. It has an olde worlde charm about it whilst at the same time being light airy spacious and clean; not an easy thing to achieve. And the gardens are absolutely gorgeous, which is probably a consequence of the wedding venue being in private hands rather than in the grip of corporate accountants.
The location of Rivervale Barn on the north Hampshire Berkshire border is great if you have guests travelling from afar. Just a short drive from Heathrow Airport and a little further to Gatwick. And easy links to the M4, M3, and M25 motorways. Ok you may not immediately be able to recognise the name of Yateley - its well-known near-neighbours include Sandhurst, Aldershot, and Camberley.
The registrars who conduct weddings and civil partnership ceremonies at Rivervale Barn are from the nearby Aldershot Office. They are always a joy to work with, probably the best in the South of England.

Will be a hard job choosing what to order!! We watched the video on Friday and were delighted by it. Thanks so much for all the work you have done on the production of both this and the pictures. We couldn't be happier!"

Rivervale Barn as a wedding venue captures a classic and modern look at the same time. There is plenty of free car parking (behind the camera position). The main entrance is illustrated in the first photo above
The next image above is a wedding album double page spread designed for this couple by Peter. The Gardens at Rivervale Barn are absolutely yummy.
The interior of Rivervale Barn has something of a cathedral like appearance as you can see in the main function room for ceremonies
Most couples like the photo coverage to start well before the ceremony so that there are plenty of great shots of the setting up plus detail of lots of things like confetti - above - dresses, shoes, jewellery, flowers, and more
It is situation normal to have a few semi-posed photos of the groom with his best man
Bridesmaids and flower girls always make for great photos!
The “getting ready” and final checks photos always find their way into the wedding albums
The little people are a must have for lots of photos!

It is situation normal to have a few semi-formal photos of the bride and groom together with the civil marriage register. Usually the witnesses are also added and sometimes - time allowing - some close family as well. It is not usually permitted to have photos or video whilst the “real” signing is completed, and the registration staff arrange a “pretend” signing shortly afterwards
And once the “official” photos with the civil register are shot, the staff invite the guests to join in for a massive photo-shoot!
The Courtyard at Rivervale Barn is ideal for some of the must-have wedding photos such as the big group shots. The fire escape enables photographers to achieve a higher position to ensure everyone can be seen. The Courtyard is also good if the weather is less than ideal as wind is minimised plus guests can quickly move between indoors and outdoors if showers are expected
The grounds and gardens to one side of Rivervale Barn are private but brides and grooms together with some guests are allowed to enter after the ceremony. The landscaped gardens and lake are mature and have fantastic colours and variety
This bride and groom had made a “Thank You” board in order to have that in a photo to then use the photo in their thank you letters after the wedding!
Some formal photos are usually required after the ceremony, others not so formal!

Confetti may be throw at any point after the ceremony. Sometimes this is done in the evenings especially if the weather is not great earlier in the day
A bouquet toss is less common these days but still popular. It is usually done in the evening and outside - so that the bouquet doesn’t get caught up in interior ceiling lights!
This groom’s wedding coincided with his 30th birthday so a special birthday cake was conjured up!
