Background Information and Highlights
The Burnham Beeches Hotel wedding venue is located on the Buckinghamshire Berkshire border very close to Slough. This makes it very easy to reach from the nearby M4, M25, M40, and M3 motorways - so your guests should have no problems reaching it from anywhere in the South of England. It has lots of free onsite car parking. The last little bit of the journey can be confusing because of the country lanes so satnav is a good idea.
The Burnham Beeches Hotel is a popular 4 star hotel which runs many weddings itself and also is often chosen by brides as a getting ready location for other local venues such as the Tudor Barn Burnham. It has spacious well-kept grounds to the exterior and inside has several nice function rooms which can be adapted to your specific needs.
The interior of the hotel has benefited from extensive refurbishment - especially the large rear function room. It is now light and airy and ideal for photography and video. Some of the bedrooms have also been refurbished including the honeymoon suite and it really is very nice indeed. Top marks to the Burnham Beeches Hotel!
Professional photography and videography during wedding ceremonies is straightforward as there are no onerous restrictions imposed by the registrars, who come from their Beaconsfield office, to spoil your coverage!

After I shoot some establishing photos of the exterior and interior of the wedding venue I often starts with the girls getting ready and typically include detail shots of the bouquets, shoes, jewellery, dresses etc

I usually shoot a few photos of the groom and the best man moments before the start of the wedding ceremony. The courtyard at the front of the Burnham Beeches Hotel caught some lovely winter sunshine just before this wedding - and as a bonus it was not too cold on the day!
The little people always seem to be ready to strike a pose for the cameras - even if I don’t want them to pose!
Its good to shoot some semi-posed photos of the VIP guests as in the father of the bride with one of the grandmothers
After the wedding ceremony the registrars will usually invite the guests to come forward and shoot their own photos of the couple

Usually a celebratory drink will be served, and if a toastmaster is on duty he will start to organise the next phase of the day

I shoot some photos in a formal style and others in a more "fun" style. Here we have our groom with his groomsmen
Photos of big groups of guests can be tricky at any venue - the aim is to be able to see as many faces as possible. Sometimes a shot from a first floor window can work well such as in the above photo where all the guests for this wedding are gathered on the courtyard in front of the Burnham Beeches Hotel
Bride and groom relax for some casual wedding photos
The flower girls always look great in the photos!
Sometimes it is just not possible to shoot outside due to the weather conditions or lack of daylight, in which case I can rig up extra lighting for some posed photos inside the hotel. Here we have our bride and groom with her mum and dad

I always shoot the room and some detail photos before the guests flood in for the wedding breakfast. Table decorations and favours look great in your wedding album
The speeches in the wedding breakfast are a terrific thing to have on video - they are a part of the day where video trumps photos every time!
The groom usually makes his speech after the father of the bride and before the best man - enabling him to get his retaliation in first!
