Wedding ceremony in progress at the Mercure St Albans Noke Hotel
Background Information and Highlights
UPDATE: as of updating this page the hotel has been taken over temporarily by the government to house asylum seekers. Hopefully it will be returned to its lovely state as a wedding venue very soon!
This venue for wedding ceremonies and receptions is The Noke Hotel, also known as the Mercure St Albans Hertfordshire. The Noke is just a stones throw from the M25 motorway but this is no motel; it really is gorgeous both inside and outside. The gardens are particularly well maintained with a good variety of trees and shrubs plus bedding plants urns and hanging baskets.
The registrars who conduct marriage ceremonies at this St Albans venue are very easy to work with - no silly restrictions regarding professional photography and video so Peter is able to record a complete record in both stills and movie formats.
Receptions can take place in the main restaurant and in the adjacent large marquee, as you'll see in the photos.
The weather on Caroline's day was very testing from a photography point of view. It didn't rain and it wasn't cold, but the wind was strong and gusty and was a constant feature throughout. We shot a few essential group photos in the afternoon but the main photos were shot in the evening after the wedding breakfast when we were able to take advantage of what became an area sheltered from the wind around the rose gardens.
See lots more wedding photo galleries including e.g. Peter’s St Albans Registry Office, Peter’s Luton & Dunstable Compilation, Peter’s Hunton Park, Peter’s All Saints Church Kenton Harrow, Peter’s Grims Dyke Hotel, and many more.
"I'm very surprised to say the photos are fantastic (me not being very photogenic!). We now want to upgrade to include an album. Its worth it now that we've seen the photos!!"

"Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the photos, they are amazing! James and I are over the moon with them. You did an amazing job, thank you very much!"
