Background Information and Highlights

The Hunton Park Hotel - in Abbots Langley and Kings Langley is just a stones throw from the much larger and better known Watford, and is therefore within easy reach of the M25, M1, and M40 motorways. This might imply this wedding venue is in a busy congested area but in fact it has much of an olde worlde village charm.

This featured gallery includes a wedding ceremony at St Lawrence Church in Abbots Langley just a couple of miles from Kings Langley. The photography coverage started at the latter stages of the girls getting ready and finished shortly after the evening first dance.

The church is photogenic both inside and outside, and the priest does not impose any onerous regulations. So far so good! However, the interior layout can be quite challenging and Peter recommends that other professionals either attend wedding rehearsals or visit the church early on the day of the wedding in order to plan ahead.

The churchyard has plenty of natural shade available from the mature trees and this enables the photographing of groups and portraits that much easier - bright sunshine can otherwise give very contrasty unappealing results even with powerful flashguns.

Hunton Park is a delightful wedding venue with its pretty main building and its extensive mature landscaped grounds. There is now a permanent marquee to the rear of the main building and this was utilised by the couple for their wedding breakfast and reception. The interior of the old building has numerous lovely backdrops which can be utilised for the group photos if the weather outside is not suitable. The exterior of the venue has lots of variety, and as with the church, has decent shaded areas which are great for photos.
