Background Information and Highlights

Our bride paid a lightning visit to the UK to meet some close friends and family to celebrate her recent marriage abroad.

The venue was the opulent Cliveden - or to give it its full title The Cliveden House Hotel - Taplow near Maidenhead Berkshire. For sheer luxury you can't beat that - lucky guests!

To say the arrangements were dogged by bad luck would be an understatement. Everything from travel documents not turning up, to late flights, to missing makeup artist, to stormy weather forecast for the day to name but a few. The bride and groom had separate flights and the grooms flight plans completely fell over resulting that he was not able to make it on the day! Peter had to admire the bride for not turning into a bridezilla! She was the very definition of calm and elegance.

Eventually the run of poor luck broke and the storms forecast for the afternoon did not materialise. In fact we had good light without dazzling sunshine and a mild temperature for the time of year, which proved to be ideal for our outside photography session.

Cliveden was compromised for outdoor photography by undergoing very extensive renovations both to the main building and to the grounds - which are owned separately by the National Trust. Also carefully check the rules for use of the grounds for photography and video as a permit and substantial usage fee are due to the National Trust in addition to the fees you incur through use of the hotel.
