Background Information and Highlights
The "new" Richmond Register Office (sometimes known as the "Registry Office") n.b. it is no longer located in the old Victorian villa nearby, is on the banks of the River Thames in Kingston upon Thames. It is a lovely building and has luscious mature gardens and grounds. You can walk over to the riverbank but it can get busy in the summer so many couples stay within the grounds.
Parking is in short supply so do recommend to your guests that they allow sufficient time.
The staff are very easy-going - and always have been so - and there are no silly rules regarding professional photography and video during marriage ceremonies other than the usual one of no shooting whilst the signing of the civil register is being signed n.b. it is OK and quite normal to do a pretend signing afterwards using a blank register.

"Thanks for sending everything through. We're really pleased with the results and the photos are a lovely reminder of the day"
Mark & Jessica T (Richmond Register Office)
"You are indeed an honorable gentleman! The galleries are lovely. Our guests have been feeding back great reports about the quality of the photos you took!"
Brad & Karen P (Richmond Register Office)
"I would like to pass along several comments we got regarding your photographic work. Many people who could not attend and who have viewed the photos said they really enjoyed your work and spoke very highly of it. They got a sense that they were there"
Val ( Grooms mum, Richmond Register Office)
The first photo above illustrates the exterior of the new location of Richmond Register Office. From behind the camera position there are extensive lawns and mature trees - ideal for the group photos and portraits
And here is the "business end" of the Register Office interior. Previously the Register Office was located in an old Victorian villa a few streets away. The newer Office and grounds are far nicer

Bride and groom exchange wedding rings during their ceremony at Richmond Register Office
Bride and groom sign the civil marriage register after their wedding at Richmond Register Office. Most registrars do not permit photography or video during the actual signing but there is a chance afterwards to set up a "pretend" signing with a blank register
There is plenty of shade around the mature gardens for better technical photography results when bright sunshine may otherwise compromise the results. But our couple wanted to include a group photo with the grand old building in the background as in the photo above
Most couples arrange to have a party or other reception afterwards. The bride and groom arranged a barbeque at a nearby hostelry on one of the hottest days of the year
The bride photographed above joined her groom and the guests for a restaurant meal at the Rock & Rose in Richmond
