Background Information and Highlights

Jennifer and Neil chose Bisham Abbey on the banks of the River Thames for their December wedding. It is midway between the M4 and M40 motorways, is of course automatically associated with the famous national sports centre. But tucked away behind the sprawling modern buildings of the sports complex is the lovely old manor house which is the setting for marriages and civil partnerships. The manor house has a fascinating history stretching back to the 13th century - well worth researching.

Close to High Wycombe, Marlow and Maidenhead Bisham Abbey is easy to reach and has plenty of onsite parking. The route to pass the sports centre once inside the grounds can be a little confusing so keep those eyes peeled; and you may need to obtain a barrier code to exit so get that in good time if you anticipate a late finish.

The registrars responsible for weddings and civil partnerships at Bisham Abbey hail from the local Maidenhead and Windsor Register Office, and are always an absolute pleasure to work with. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
