Background Information and Highlights
Kingscote Barn near Tetbury Gloucestershire is a delightful venue for both marriage ceremonies and wedding receptions.
Its located on Binley Farm in the village of Kingscote, a few short miles from Tetbury and 20 minutes from the M4 and M5 motorways. So although it is very quiet and secluded it is easy to get to. The original building is 17th century. It has been restored and renovated so that it retains its old charm but is also clean and bright and almost modern. You'll see this in the galleries and in the photos below.
The registrars responsible for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies at Kingscote Barn can be variable, from easy-going to draconian in their rules and regulations regarding photography and videography during ceremonies. It really is a lottery. Some registrars are very easy to work with whilst others have been ..... well Peter can't express that politely!
There is very little shade available at Kingscote Barn during the afternoon so sometimes Peter recommends we complete the important family and group posed photos in the evening if we need to avoid some ferocious midday sun.
Kingscote Barn has good sized lawns to the rear and the guests are able to enjoy their drinks and various outside games here.

Inside Kingscote Barn you can appreciate its high standard of refurbishment. It is well lit - something all professional photographers appreciate as normally we want to use artificial light as little as possible.

Once the wedding ceremony is finished guests are encouraged to go into the gardens or the separate reception room whilst the main Barn is prepared for the wedding breakfast. The photo above shows Kingscote Barn set ready for the wedding breakfast. Its always nice to get a few shots like this before everyone piles back in!
