Background Information and Highlights
The Mill House Hotel Swallowfield has been a popular wedding venue for very many years and I have worked there lots of times shooting both photography and video as well as attending as a wedding guest.
This gallery features 10 of the weddings I have shot at the Mill House Hotel. I am based just a few minutes drive away in nearby Burghfield.
The hotel is in a rural location a few short miles south of Reading Berkshire and is easily reached from the nearby M4 and M3 motorways. There is lots of free onsite car parking available for guests.
There are two rooms licensed for wedding ceremonies. The smaller Cottage Suite can take around 50 guests and the larger Garden Room around 120. The Garden Room has a particularly nice outlook onto the gardens and has plenty of natural light streaming through the large windows. And there is of course the opportunity to have an outdoor ceremony weather permitting - as you’ll see in this photo gallery!
The gardens to the rear of the Mill House Hotel are large and varied. Everywhere is well maintained and has lots of alternative spots suitable for all the essential posed group photos etc. It is also possible to leave the gardens via a side gate and shoot some extra photos with fields as a backdrop.
The registrars responsible for wedding ceremonies at the Mill House Hotel allow a good range of professional photography and video activity, and so it is possible to have a comprehensive photo and video record of your marriage ceremony.
A permanent marquee is erected at the far end of the gardens and this is where the wedding breakfast and evening dancing normally take place.

I usually start the coverage with some establishing photos of the venue outside and inside plus some detail shots of flowers, dresses, shoes, jewellery, and suchlike. These look terrific in a montage at the start of your wedding album. The photo at the top of the page shows the exterior of the frontage of the Mill House Hotel. The summer flowers are always gorgeous well-tended and plentiful throughout.
