Background Information and Highlights
Lana and Rob chose the delightful Sandford Springs Hotel and Golf Club near Kingsclere Hampshire for their wedding ceremony and reception.
Kingsclere Hampshire ..... where is that? Well its a small picturesque village midway between Newbury and Basingstoke and a stones throw from Highclere Castle - otherwise known as Downton Abbey. So its an easy reach from both the M4 and M3 motorways.
The hotel, the golf club and the main ceremony room known as The Clock House are separate buildings on the site. So you might expect to get ready in the hotel, have your ceremony 100 yards away in the lovely old Clock House, and then continue a further 100 yards to the club house for your reception.
The club house has its own terraced area and landscaped gardens separate from the golfing fraternity and very good locations for your wedding photos. Weather permitting you can venture further into the countryside aboard a buggy for more photos.
The registrars responsible for wedding ceremonies at the Sandford Springs Hotel and Golf Club are from Basingstoke Register Office and have long been some of the easier registrars for professional wedding photographers and videographers to work with. There are no onerous restrictions on coverage during ceremonies.
Our couple booked an all day combined photography and video package starting shortly before the wedding ceremony and finishing once the evening dancing was well underway.
On the day of this winter wedding we had almost continuous rain and so we were not able to take advantage of many of the venue's beautiful exterior backdrops. We managed to persuade the guests out onto the terrace for a few minutes for the essential big group photos, and dodge the showers for a few more photos at the front of the club house. And Lana was game for having a few more photos on the lawn. Fortunately the staff are very accommodating and Peter was able to rearrange some of the furniture in the foyer, put up some powerful portable lights, and use this area for most of the must have group photos.
The wedding breakfast was quite unusual by English traditions. There was a strong Swedish / Russian contingent and this meant there were a dozen or so speeches by guests at various intervals plus three singalongs! Thanks to the the hard organisational work of guest and master of ceremonies Rakhesh, Peter was able to capture all of these on video and as photos. Phew!
The dancing in the evening was simply amazing. Brazilian music played by a live band ensured plenty of action on the dancefloor.
See lots more wedding photo galleries e.g. Peter’s Esseborne Manor, Peter’s Oakley Hall Hotel, Peter’s The Retreat At Elcot Park, Peter’s Elvetham Hotel, Peter’s Audleys Wood Hotel, Peter’s Old Mill Aldermaston, Peter’s Combe Manor, Basingstoke Registry Office, Peter’s Avington Park, and many more.
"We really love the video and all the beautiful photos you took. Thank you very much we are ecstatic with the results! All the best to you"
