Background Information and Highlights

Our bride and groom chose the delightful setting of Combe Manor near Hungerford Berkshire for their wedding ceremony and reception. The venue is "near" Hungerford, but its not really near anywhere - its right in the middle of no-where! So be prepared to allow a bit of extra travel time as you make your way the last few miles down winding country lanes to reach this lovely rural retreat. And watch out for all the game birds wandering across your path without a care in the world.

The Manor House itself is available for getting ready in. Its in the first photo below. Fortunately the owners also allow access to their beautiful country house drawing room for group photos if the weather is inclement.

And inclement it was. Rain rain and more rain! We just about managed to get a group photo of all the guests on the lawn after the ceremony but after that it was off to the drawing room for us. Peter put up some off-camera lights and the group photo session worked really well.

The barns in which the ceremony and reception take place have low levels of ambient light and so professional photographic equipment must be able to deal with this challenge. Fortunately the Newbury registrars who conduct marriage ceremonies at Combe Manor Barns are OK with some flash photography during ceremonies and this certainly helps.

Our couple booked a combined photography and video package starting shortly before the ceremony and finishing after their first dance in the evening.
