The Old Mill Aldermaston, a real golden oldie from – wait for it – 20 years ago!
The Tiktok generation think that wedding photography was no more than posing for a few formal portraits after the church, nothing they would be seen dead doing!Wrong wrong wrong, “reportage” / “documentary” / “photojournalist” styles have been around for decades especially when there was only black and white film, no colour and definitely no digital. And coverage from the girls getting ready right through till the late evening. Plus many young digi-photographers purporting to be artists have never got the hang of using flash discreetly effectively, instead using the excuse “I'm an available light artist”. Yikes!
For the techies this carousel of just 10 photos was shot 20 years ago on digital using my then state of the art two Canon 1D Mark II's which cost £2999 each from Park Cameras

My go-to lenses were the Canon 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8L IS, and the 50mm f1.2L. Can't recall the guns, probably a set of Canon 550's.
I live within dog walking distance of the venue so naturally I have shot there several times including video.

The Old Mill Aldermaston near Reading and Newbury Berkshire is extremely photogenic both inside and outside. The extensive grounds have the river flowing alongside. Beautiful.
