An affordable professional photography and video service by Berkshire based Peter Riding, working chiefly throughout Berkshire, north Hampshire, south Oxfordshire, south Buckinghamshire, west Surrey, central and west London, and beyond.

Services may include photography or video or a combination of both.

Christenings and baptisms are by far the most popular requests for photography and video (other than weddings!); other social events include childrens parties and family get-togethers for parties and on-location portraiture. Go towards the bottom of this page to browse a few other types of events including summer balls, adults birthday parties, anniversaries, and mobile studios.

Venues include anything from family homes and gardens, to churches and village halls, to the most exclusive central London 5-star hotels and clubs. Most couples are based around Berkshire in Reading, Newbury, Maidenhead, Slough, Bracknell, Ascot, and Windsor.

Background Information:

This page is a photo compilation of lots of christenings plus some childrens parties around the Berkshire area. Browse some more compilations of christenings and baptisms at The Brompton Oratory Kensington London and at St Sophia's Cathedral (Greek Orthodox) at Bayswater London:

Professional photography and video of your child's baptism ceremony is usually permitted but you should check with your priest beforehand as some churches have onerous restrictions which could lead to disappointment. Also, some churches conduct christenings for several children from different families during the same ceremony and this in turn may mean there are some restrictions in order to respect the wishes of the other families.

A non-refundable deposit of £95 is required to confirm your booking, and the balance is payable before the day. Payment methods include debit and credit card by phone, cheque, cash, and online bank transfer. Bank transfer is Peter's preferred method (please request the sort code and account number as these cannot be put online).

You do not need to complete a formal contract unless you prefer to do so; your booking is accepted on condition that you accept the standard terms and conditions within the Photography / Videography Contract.

This little girl watches her sister being baptised. She herself was baptised four years earlier and Peter has photographed both the girls baptisms:

Its surprising how many babies do not cry or shout during their ceremony. Perhaps their interest beats their "fear":

The priest at the next baptism created a lot of interest for the many youngster guests:

Christening ceremonies are often followed by parties. Set-piece portraits of some of the guests are a popular request:

The post-ceremony events may be anything from a private house to the most exclusive of central London venues. The next photo shows a marquee set up at a private house:

This couple chose the amazing 5-star Lanesborough Hotel near Marble Arch for their celebrations:

And these parents chose the world-renowned Annabels Club in Mayfair:

Peter can set up a full-on mobile studio - far superior to photo-booths.

If there is not a suitable background in the room Peter can set up various textile backdrops:

Peter shoots lots of weddings - as you'll find on the website obviously! The group photo below was shot during a wedding at the Burnham Beeches Hotel. The mother of the bride, seen in the front row next to her husband in his purple suit, subsequently booked photography for her own wedding anniversary party.

And here she is, holding a photo of her own wedding day!

School summer balls are another popular choice. Great opportunity to have beautiful posed photos and not just endless silly photo-booth snaps.

Parties celebrating various military events are great. Many participants like to have formal poses in all their finery as well as lots of fun casual photos:

Dogs are a big feature in lots of peoples lives, even acting as ring bearers at weddings! Pet photos can be a variety of close-up portraits and environmental compositions such as in the next shot:
