The delightful Tudor Barn Burnham Buckinghamshire is a popular choice for marriage ceremonies and wedding receptions. And once you've had a look around its not difficult to understand why!
The Tudor Barn has a very long and interesting history, starting out its life over 500 years ago as - you guessed it - a barn. Along the way its been a convent, and in its present well-restored state it sometimes acts as the venue for international bridge matches!
This wedding venue is located just off the M4 motorway close to its well-known near neighbour Slough, and is also easily accessible from the M40 and M25 motorways. There is plenty of secure free onsite parking.
The registrars responsible for marriages at the Tudor Barn are from the local Beaconsfield Register Office and are pretty easy to work with. No onerous restrictions on professional photography and video during the ceremony other than movement to be kept to a minimum. Peter can video your entire ceremony whilst also shooting a complete selection of photos.
Many brides get ready at the nearby Burnham Beeches Hotel which is also a busy wedding venue before making the short trip to the Tudor Barn as the Barn does not have accommodation.
Ceremonies take place in the Garden Room and in good weather this room is particularly good for ceremony photography because its possible to move from one side of the room to the other via the open double patio doors, to obtain a greater variety of shots without causing a distraction.
Outside the venue has well tended grounds and with careful attention its possible to find areas that are sheltered from one of the photographers worst enemies - bright sunshine!
The main barn where the receptions take place is again very good for professional photography and video as it has galleries at either end and a variety of entrances and exits enabling photographers to move around and obtain a good selection of images.
This feature gallery includes highlights from two Tudor Barn weddings - one for Kay and Paul and another for Nick and James. And yes the latter is a gay wedding; if you've never been to a gay wedding and are wondering what it is like ..... well you'll see from the photos that its exactly like any other wedding!
The first photo in the collection below shows the view of the exterior of the Tudor Barn Burnham as you approach it from the main road. The photogenic clock tower is just to the right of the wedding car:
As you sweep around the Tudor Barn towards the parking area the rear lawns and mature trees come into view:
And another view of the rear gardens. There is also a secluded and sheltered more private garden area which is great for photos:
Most brides like their coverage to start with some of the "getting ready". Some close-up photos of bouquets, dresses, shoes and so forth look great at the start of your wedding album:
A few semi-posed portraits can work well once the getting ready is finished. Here we see our bride with her mum all set for the start of the wedding ceremony at the Tudor Barn.
The next photo shows the Garden Room at the Tudor Barn Burnham set up ready for the start of the wedding ceremony:
The registrars at the Tudor Barn are easy to work with and so Peter can shoot a complete photo and video record of your wedding ceremony:
The all important exchange of rings:
The gardens adjacent to the terrace at the rear of the Tudor Barn Burnham have lots of photogenic backdrops suitable for the wedding photos with friends and family:
The courtyard at the front of the Tudor Barn has the lovely clock tower just begging to be featured in your wedding photos:
There is smaller secluded garden at the rear of the Tudor Barn which also works great for the wedding photos:
The main hall looks great prepared ready for the wedding breakfast:
Detail photos of the table decorations etc look great in your wedding album:
And of course your wedding cake!
A receiving line before the wedding breakfast gives the bride and groom and the parents the opportunity to ensure that they have exchanged a few words with every guest:
The speeches are always a terrific photo and video opportunity:
The galleries at either end of the Main Hall at the Tudor Barn provide a good opportunity to shoot some varied compositions from above:
Confetti is allowed outside at the Tudor Barn:
Guests enjoyed an improvised game of cricket after this wedding at the Tudor Barn Burnham!
The dancing can also be a great photo and video opportunity!
