Our featured couples chose Stirrups Country House Hotel near Bracknell Berkshire for their marriage ceremonies and wedding receptions.
Stirrups Hotel is a modern spacious wedding venue with attractive rooms, extensive well maintained grounds, and plenty of free parking. Crucially for weddings out of the high season when adverse weather can be a big problem, Stirrups has a large patio area which includes several huge brollies for shelter complete with open air heaters. Peter often makes good use of these when completing the family and group photos if the weather is windy or showery.
The registrars have no silly rules regarding professional photography and video during ceremonies so it is possible to shoot a good selection of photos and video for this all important part of the day.
This distinctive frontage greets you as you approach Stirrups Country House Hotel:
The dray cart is a nice photo prop especially as the flower border around it is always maintained very nicely. You can use it as a backdrop in even the wettest of weather as there is hard ground just a few yards to the left of the camera position:
The grounds can look a little bare in the low season - no way around that obviously - but there is a large terrace opening from two of the function rooms which is a great location for photos of groups as it is dry underfoot and is readily accessible. You can see the terrace in the next photo below:
The Floyd Suite inside Stirrups Hotel looks lovely dressed ready for the wedding ceremony:
Many couples like their coverage to start with the latter stages of the girls getting ready and to include detail shots of the flowers, dresses, shoes and so forth:
Of course the fellas may go off-site for a quick drink beforehand:
The groom enjoyed a quick stiff drink to fortify himself in the olde worlde bar of the hotel before plunging headlong into all that wedding stuff!
Our couples daughter soon got over her initial nerves and together with her best friend threw herself into her flowergirl duties:
Stirrups Country House Hotel Bracknell is of course licensed for civil wedding ceremonies but you can get married in a local church if you wish. The couple in the next photo chose St Peters Church Cranbourne for their ceremony:
And then arrived in style via horse and carriage!
The registrars at Stirrups Country House Hotel are easy-going regarding professional photography and video during wedding ceremonies and so it is possible to shoot a full collection of photos and video clips from various vantage points:
The Floyd Suite is the largest function room at the hotel. The Windsor Suite seen in the next photo may be more suitable for smaller wedding ceremonies:
Guests have the opportunity to shoot their own photos at the end of the ceremony:
Confetti is allowed outside at Stirrups Country House Hotel:
The terrace can be a great suntrap:
Large groups of wedding guests can be photographed from one of the bedroom windows at the hotel, enabling everyone to be seen:
The bridge and lake are of course must haves for the wedding photos at Stirrups Country House Hotel Bracknell:
One lovely feature of limiting yourselves to low numbers of guests is that everyone can sit around a communal table as we see here before the influx. This is the Ascot Suite at Stirrups Country House Hotel Bracknell:
The speeches are always a great opportunity for some character photos of the guests:
The photos during the speeches are good to have but the video is even better:

Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. Do not steal now, and that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you.
