Thanks so much Pete, the pictures are brilliant!!!
All Saints Church Downshire Square Reading Berkshire is a lovely old Victorian building just half a mile or so west of the town centre. Its in a quiet secluded part of town but being quite central car parking can be a challenge on busy days - so be sure to allow for that! The current incumbent is very relaxed about professional photography and video during ceremonies - whether they be weddings or christenings and baptisms, so its possible to shoot a good selection of photos throughout and to record the ceremony in full on video. The church does have a Sennheiser wireless PA system installed which will be of interest to professional videographers (technical note: the priest is also OK about wearing a separate videographers lav microphone if you prefer not to rely on the inhouse system).
You'll see from the first photograph below that the interior is photogenic and also makes a good backdrop for the essential posed photos with family and friends if the weather limits your scope to shoot these outside.
This featured wedding started with coverage of the boys getting ready. The next photo shows one of the groomsmen preparing a speech to embarrass the hapless groom later in the day:
Meanwhile the groom, oblivious to his upcoming fate, relaxed with a game:
The church is spacious and easy to move around within, enabling a good selection of photos from alternative shooting positions:
All Saints Church has a small sunny churchyard just to its south. This can be very bright in direct sunshine with little shade available so it may be worth using the churchyard around the rear of the building - which will need to be unlocked. We had glorious sunshine for this summer wedding as you can see in the next photo:
Shortly after the ceremony we made our way to Easthampstead Park Wokingham for the wedding breakfast and reception.
