We hope you enjoy the galleries and may be able to recommend Ashton Lamont to friends and colleagues for our wedding, event, portrait, and commercial work.

Guests: High quality individually edited photographic prints or printready digital files can be purchased. See the Online Order Form clickable underneath each fullsize image or contact us with your specific requirements and with your credit or debit card details or send in a cheque (payee “Ashton Lamont”). You can also pay by internet bank transfer – contact us for the sort code and account number.

All prints sized 7”x5”, 9”x6”, and 10”x8” come with a lovely black bevelled matte ready for display. All these print sizes cost the same but you may wish to avoid 10”x8” unless the print is intended for a readymade frame of that size because its aspect ratio involves cropping some content from the two shortest sides of the image – compare a widescreen television to a standard television – 9”x6” resembles widescreen and 10”x8” resembles standard. If an image does not work in 10x8 it is supplied in 9x6.

Background Information:

Debs and Richard chose a combined photo a video coverage starting with a few photos at the girls getting ready location and finishing shortly after the evening first dance.

The marriage ceremony took place at St Marys Church Burghfield Reading Berkshire, a location well-known to Peter as it is his local church. The church itself is roomy and reasonably well lit, and so is a good choice where photos and video during the wedding ceremony are important to couples. Fortunately our celebrant has a good attitude towards professional photographers and videographers and so Peter was able to shoot a varied selection of images and clips.

The churchyard at St Marys Church Burghfield is large and so there is space for the usual group photos with relations and friends. Shade however is in short supply and so professional photographers should consider shooting or repeating the VIP photos at the reception venue. This is indeed what we did on our couples day - which was probably the hottest and brightest day of the entire year.

From St Marys Church Burghfield we made the short hop to the delightful Old Mill Aldermaston Reading for the wedding reception.

Both the church and the Old Mill are easily accessible being just a few short miles from the M4 and M3 motorways, and under ten miles from the centre of Reading Berkshire.

What can be said about this beautiful wedding reception venue that hasn't been said already? Not a lot really other than to emphasise what a feast it is for lovers of mature landscaped colourful gardens. And the staff looked after us to their usual high standards.

St Marys Church Burghfield is tucked away down a country lane but rest assured there is plenty of parking in the main and overflow car parks. And the view as you approach the church can be seen in the first photo below:

Our couple hired a lovely old Bentley from Charismatic Cars in nearby Wokingham. Here our bride poses with her dad shortly before the start of the wedding ceremony. A traditional wedding photo and always a nice one to have among the more numerous reportage style photos:

Peter grabbed this photo of the assembled guests a few seconds before our bride made her processional. You can see how spacious the interior of the church is in this shot taken with an extreme wide angle lens. Unfortunately access to the rear balcony is no longer permitted due to structural defects. Peter mounted a small video camera on a high stand at the rear to record the ceremony from that viewpoint:

And the wide angle lens again to record an atmospheric image as our bride prepares for her grand entrance into the church:

And one more photo from the wide angle lens this time to illustrate the space available at the front of the church's interior. All the pews to the left and right of the camera position can fill up for major church events such as the Christmas Carol Services but most weddings use just the pews in the main aisle:

From a vantage point at the front it is possible to shoot a good variety of photos without causing distractions, capturing the vows and ring exchanges:

And of course the reactions of the guests:

Photography during the signing of the civil register is not restricted at St Marys Church Burghfield and so it is possible to shoot the real thing rather than simply relying on posed mockups afterwards:

We attempted some of the posed wedding photos in the churchyard at St Marys Burghfield using what shade we could, but the sun was so bright and so brutally hot that conditions were far from ideal. We completed these photos after the wedding breakfast in the evening when conditions were much more benign and our participants were more up for it:

Next a familiar view to all who know and love the Old Mill Aldermaston - bride and groom descending the steps from the conservatory to greet their guests eagerly awaiting them in the gardens:

It was a seriously hot day and many guests sought refuge from the sun inside, but here we see a couple of brave souls enjoying a chat beside the Old Mill's trademark riverbank:

And one of Peter's favourite setpiece photos when at the Old Mill Aldermaston - the wedding cake reflected in its adjacent mirror:

The speeches during the wedding breakfast are always a great photo opportunity and this was no exception:

After the wedding breakfast we completed the various formal group photos and a few impromptu ones as well. Peter always recommends that couples make a list of their group photos but this doesn't mean that the list cannot be added to on the day, such as with this cute little family portrait:

A photo of the Old Mill Aldermaston after dark can make a great closing page for the wedding album:
