Peter started the all-day photography coverage with some of the getting ready - the dress the flowers and all those details which look great in the wedding album.
Meanwhile some of the fellas were completing some of their finishing touches:
Photography was prohibited during the wedding ceremony so Peter had to content himself with a few shot of the venue before things started, such as the alter area decorated for Christmas:
This particular wedding ceremony was at St John the Evangelist Church Stoke Row Oxfordshire - which is just a short distance north of Reading and west of Henley on Thames.
A few "stolen" shots were possible during the ceremony:
Once the ceremony was over our bride was surprised by the arrival of a "lucky" chimney sweep!
After a few posed group photos in the church yard we departed for the reception venue - Shiplake College near Henley on Thames Oxfordshire - but not before our bride and groom were bombarded with confetti by the exuberant guests at the church gate:
The Great Hall complete with the the Minstrels Gallery at Shiplake College was suitably decorated for this Christmas wedding!
The weather was certainly not photography friendly and guests took some persuading to venture outside onto the raised terrace for some of the essential posed photos. Our bride is to be commended as she was just days away from giving birth to twins!
There was no chance of the guests enjoying their cocktail hour drinks outside on the terrace in these conditions and they soon occupied the Great Hall in anticipation of the wedding breakfast.
In more benign months of the year there are some lovely spots for photos down by the banks of the River Thames - which runs straight past Shiplake College grounds. But this December it was far too wet and muddy down there. We completed a few more photos on the terrace overlooking the river. Portraiture style photos nearly always look best when shot under natural daylight rather than inside venues so its worth persevering during inclement conditions.
Dusk soon arrived, enabling some atmospheric photos of the outside of Shiplake College to be shot:
The speeches during the wedding breakfast are always a terrific photo opportunity:
The evening of course brought on the dancing. These old halls with their high ceilings look fabulous:

Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. Do not steal now, and that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. (With appreciation to Bryan in "Taken").
