We hope you enjoy the galleries and may be able to recommend Ashton Lamont to friends and colleagues for our wedding, event, portrait, and commercial work.

Guests: High quality individually edited photographic prints or printready digital files can be purchased. See the Online Order Form clickable underneath each fullsize image or contact us with your specific requirements and with your credit or debit card details or send in a cheque (payee “Ashton Lamont”). You can also pay by internet bank transfer – contact us for the sort code and account number.

All prints sized 7”x5”, 9”x6”, and 10”x8” come with a lovely black bevelled matte ready for display. All these print sizes cost the same but you may wish to avoid 10”x8” unless the print is intended for a readymade frame of that size because its aspect ratio involves cropping some content from the two shortest sides of the image – compare a widescreen television to a standard television – 9”x6” resembles widescreen and 10”x8” resembles standard. If an image does not work in 10x8 it is supplied in 9x6.

Background Information:

Emily and Mark chose the delightful and friendly Our Lady and St John Church Goring on Thames Oxfordshire for their marriage ceremony. Goring on Thames is not short of churches, thats for sure, and Our Lady and St John - or to give the church its full name - Our Lady and St John and Christ the King Catholic Church is tucked away in Ferry Lane just south of the village centre.

The wedding ceremony was conducted by Father Tom and he has to be one of the easiest if not the easiest officiant to work with in the whole of Oxfordshire. Catholic priests are usually pretty easy-going anyway when it comes to professional photography during ceremonies but Father Tom is exceptional! Far from imposing any artificial restrictions he actually encouraged the guests to use their cameras, and of course Peter was able to shoot a great selection of images and record the whole ceremony on video.

The church itself is located down a narrow lane and parking is extremely limited. Guests are recommended to use the pay and display car park just a short walk away.

The weather on the day threatened to rain many times but we were pretty lucky. Just a few short showers in the morning, then a long period of fine conditions. The rain did catch up with us in the late afternoon and the various posed groups of family and friends had hurriedly to be relocated to a sheltered area beneath some trees at our reception venue.

After the ceremony we departed Our Lady and St John Church for the rest of the festivities in the nearby village of Lower Basildon. Our couple had a terrific marquee in the grounds of the private house.

This photo shows the little Oxfordshire village church viewed from its tiny car park at the rear:

Prior to the wedding our bride and her entourage completed their "getting ready" at the Miller of Mansfield, a quintessentially Oxfordshire Coaching Inn of 18th Century origins located in the centre of Goring on Thames. You can view the old world front of the building in the next photo. The interior is very much old world as well, and some of the dimensions do remind you that in those far gone days most people were somewhat smaller than they are today!

The Miller of Mansfield is full of nooks and crannies and interesting features, as you might expect from one of Oxfordshire's oldest coaching inns. Our bride's room looked amazing and was well suited for photographing the getting ready phase:

Meanwhile some of the boys seem to have been diverted by another nearby Oxfordshire staple - a village pub:

Horses and carriages and Oxfordshire seem made for each other. Emily did not know this carriage had been arranged until minutes before her wedding:

Father Tom - our priest officiating at Emily and Marks' wedding - placed no restrictions at all on photography or video during the marriage ceremony. Just use common sense! Peter was able to photograph our groom's first few moments of seeing his bride:

Peter, as with all professional wedding photographers in Oxfordshire, sometimes has to contend with officiants restricting or prohibiting photography. No such issues here. What is more, the church's internal layout which is roughly an arc surrounding the priest makes for some great and varied shots:

A long reach lens enables lovely images such as the first kiss to be photographed without the photographer causing undue distractions to the guests:

Our Lady and St John Church Goring does have a traditional altar at one end of the building but generally it is only used for the signing of the civil register. This works great because if it were the location for the main wedding ceremony then obtaining a variety of photos from different angles would be much more of a challenge. Wedding photographers in Oxfordshire will be aware of many other churches in the area where the internal layout is long and thin, making variety sometimes almost impossible

Our couple took the carriage down the Oxfordshire lanes to their nearby private house reception venue:

The caterers did a magnificent job right through from serving the drinks at arrival to the evening buffet. The next photo shows our couple approaching their cool and much anticipated first drinks:

Emily and Mark arranged for some live music to accompany the aperitifs taken outdoors on one of the lawns. Our musician had also provided the music for the wedding ceremony:

Oxfordshire wedding photography often involves sumptuous marquees in the grounds of beautiful private homes! Marquees usually work great for professional photography as well because their white walls and roof dissipate natural light resulting in a lovely even ambience. In this wedding photo we can see the interior of the marquee set ready for the wedding breakfast:

The even natural light makes for some great mid-speech pictures. Here we can see one of many toasts!

Wedding photographers are usually asked to shoot marquees of a single interior colour - either white or black. Emily and Marks' marquee had an interesting mix of the two which worked very well. This photos shows the view from the rear of the marquee whilst the speeches are in progress; you can see the white area under which the sit down meal took place, and nearer to the camera position the black roof area together with the black and white tiled dance floor ready for the evenings activities. Behind the camera position was another white area together with a bar and couches:

The cake cutting - a traditional part of most weddings - took place in the dance area later in the evening:

Some atmospheric photos of the guests themselves taking photos can be had, especially during the cake cutting:

Dancing in the marquee was very popular - once a few wrinkles with the electric circuits from the house to the marquee had been ironed out. Our DJ made a terrific job of the dance floor lighting:

Oxfordshire wedding photographers - and Peter in particular - are not alone in welcoming photogenic natural features which can be included in the wedding photography coverage. Here we have a romantic Oxfordshire moon adding a lovely touch to Emily and Marks' evening:
