Joanne and Richard chose a short duration photo and video coverage for their relaxed low key wedding day.
The marriage ceremony took place at Guildford Register Office, and as always all the staff were exceptionally pleasant and easy to work with.
Guildford Register Office, or "registry office" as it is sometimes - wrongly - called is a lovely Victorian villa quite central to the town. It has a decent landscaped garden suitable for the important posed family and friend group photos. There is onsite car parking but it is not in over-abundance so don't cut your timings too fine! It is a busy register office with several ceremonies each day in popular periods and that should be borne in mind when planning arrivals.
After the ceremony we made our way to the reception venue The White Hart. This is a terrific country pub in Woodstreet Village on the outskirts of Guildford Surrey. You'll see from the main galleries that the White Hart enjoys a beautiful village location and is very smart both inside and outside.
The first photo below shows the Guildford Register Office as seen when you approach from its car park. You can see that it is very photogenic and well-maintained - so eminently suitable for wedding photos!
And another photo, this time with an extreme wide angle lens to help illustrate the landscaped gardens within the same photograph:
Our bride arrives on the other side of the building out of sight of the guests:
Meanwhile our groom was gathering some last minute tips from some of the old hands:
The registrars responsible for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies at Guildford Register Office are very attuned to the needs of professional photographers and videographers, and Peter was able to shoot a good selection of both during our couples ceremony including the must have exchange of rings:
Photography and video during the ceremony also enables some great moments featuring the guests to be captured:
Perhaps this photo should not have made the final cut but don't you love the ladies expression as the piper does his thing!
The steps immediately outside Guildford Register Office are an ideal location for shooting group photos:
And confetti is allowed on the terrace:
We completed our setpiece posed photos at The White Hart:
The White Hart Pub Woodstreet Village is extremely popular and so space outside for photographs is at a premium. There is however a nice shaded area just a few yards away in the lane leading to the pub which is suitable for posed photos:
Joanne and Richard went for an informal style of day and after short speeches the wedding breakfast got underway in the White Hart's delightful dining room:

Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. Do not steal now, and that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you do steal, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. (With appreciation to Bryan in "Taken").
