The Chapel of Oriel College Oxford in Oxford city centre hosted this September wedding. Discreet photography was permitted during the ceremony.
Oxford is always a delightful city in which to photograph weddings with all those photogenic old churches colleges and other historical buildings as venues and backdrops. Couples should note that the Oxford colleges can have some surprisingly strict regulations about where you can go and what you can do so do check thoroughly beforehand to avoid any dispute on your wedding day!
Travel by car and parking are notoriously difficult in the town centre so make sure your guests are briefed to allow plenty of time when attending any weddings in Oxford! Couples whose ceremony and reception venues are both in the centre of town often choose to walk from one to the other together with the entire wedding party. The crowds may come to watch your procession and wish you well and this makes for some great photo opportunities for photographers!
From Oxford we adjourned to the magnificent Heythrop Park near the Oxfordshire village of Chipping Norton for the wedding reception. We had planned to do some formal photos in the college square but you'll see that the heavens opened and we had to run for cover! Fortunately the sun came out later and we were able to make good use of the beautiful grounds of Heythrop Park. Weddings at Heythrop Park are pretty straightforward to photograph when it comes to the essential family formals as there is an abundance of photogenic locations both inside and outside.
The bride and groom have glittering careers in Oxford and Oriel is their former college.
The couple chose a reportage or photo-journalist style for most of the day.
