Background Information and Highlights:

Our couple featured in this gallery chose a short duration photo and video package which started with the latter stages of getting ready and finished shortly after the start of the wedding breakfast.

St Peters Church Chalfont St Peter Buckinghamshire hosted the marriage ceremony. St Peters is located in the town centre and there is a large pay and display car park adjoining the rear of the churchyard. St Peters should not be confused with the two other churches in the parish - All Saints and St Pauls - particularly since the town itself is Chalfont St Peter ..... and there is more than one Chalfont in the area!

Our officiant on the day - Rev Jim King - was easy going and a pleasure to work with. Peter was able to shoot a good selection of photos and video throughout the wedding ceremony without any onerous restrictions.

After the ceremony we made the short dash to the Bull Hotel Gerrards Cross for the wedding reception.

The Bull Hotel is itself an excellent licensed wedding venue. It has particularly attractive landscaped gardens to the rear which are excellent for the must have posed photos with friends and relations. It is within easy reach of the M40 and M25 motorways and there is a good amount of onsite parking.

The first photo shows St Peters Church Chalfont. Just about as English "chocolate box" as you can get!

Although shooting during wedding ceremonies is not restricted the layout of the interior does present quite a challenge. The next photo shows the ceremony in full swing. It is not possible to move further forward than the lectern so photos of the bride and grooms faces have to be snatched whenever they are fleetingly available:

However some shots are possible through the rails which separate the choir stalls from the main interior, all be it with some decor sneaking into the compositions:

The forward photo shooting position enables some great captures of the guests in both stills and video, shots which are simply not possible from the rear of churches:

Peter also used four miniature video cameras and these enabled the entire ceremony to be recorded from different angles without causing distractions. Rev Jim complimented Peter afterwards on how smooth and low profile his work had been.

It was possible to shoot the exchange of rings through the rails:

Our couple had a soloist accompanied by the church organ. Unfortunately no "clean" shots of her were possible because of the layout:

We made a rapid departure from St Peters Church Chalfont in order to arrive at the Bull Hotel before the last of the autumnal daylight was lost. The gardens at the Bull Hotel are fantastic for photos. We managed to coax everyone outside despite the chilly conditions for a quick group shot on the lawns:

The gardens have lots of alternative backdrops plus plenty of shade should it be needed:

And we did of course feature the splendid wedding limo in the photos:

The main function room at the Bull Hotel Gerrards Cross looked great prepared for the wedding breakfast:

Meanwhile some of the kids were doing what kids love to do - going mad in the foyer!

And then the wedding breakfast got underway co-ordinated by our toastmaster:

And finally the Bull Hotel Gerrards Cross at dusk. This can make a great closing photo for the wedding album:
