If you are planning a wedding in the Basingstoke area do take a look at the Prices, the Photo Galleries, the Videos, and the Albums. This gallery illustrates just one of many venues for you to browse.
Thank you so much for everything. The photos look absolutely amazing! We had a fantastic day and your photos have captured it brilliantly.
Adele and Dan
Our couple chose a lovely countryside riverside location for their wedding ceremony and reception - Bartons Mill, which is in Old Basing on the outskirts of Basingstoke Hampshire.
The weather - always a concern for mid-winter weddings, got off to an unpromising start with plenty of heavy rain. Our ushers did a sterling job escorting the guests from their cars to the interior with the brollies our couple had had the forethought to provide. Then we got lucky. Really lucky! The skies cleared of rain after the ceremony long enough for us to complete all the essential various group photos outside. Peter carries lots of lighting equipment to enable these photos to be shot inside but natural light outside is almost always preferable.
Bartons Mill is in an enviable riverside position and very photogenic. On the day it was too wet underfoot to venture onto the riverbank or onto the beautiful lawns at the rear. Oh well!
Our bride and groom booked a short duration combined photo and video package starting shortly before our brides arrival in her vintage VW and finishing a little after everyone was seated for the wedding breakfast.
The first photo below shows Bartons Mill as you approach it from the access lane. To the right of the camera position is the river and behind the building extensive lawns, terrace and more of the river.
The next photo shows the room used for the ceremony on the first floor. Its very dark and so quite demanding for photography and video.
The rain made a most unwelcome appearance as the guests arrived:
Fortunately the rain blew away and some blue skies made an appearance just in time!
It was a tight fit in the ceremony room but the Basingstoke registrars are easy to work with and Peter was able to shoot a good record of the ceremony in both stills and video. You can see one of the small video cameras attached to a light fitting in the next photo. Its surprising what can be done with the right equipment!
Dark low ceilings and low ambient light make the bar areas almost no-go for cameras - but they just about work!
We completed the group photos at the front of Bartons Mill - it was far too wet to ask the ladies to step onto the lawns by the river at the rear:

Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. Do not steal now, and that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you do steal, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. (With appreciation to Bryan in "Taken").
